The Water & Sewer Department is responsible for performing the following tasks:

Maintains over 126.6 miles of water mains and over 90.1 miles of sanitary sewer mains which now extend into certain areas of county.

Services 6005 Water Services.

Services 4681 Sanitary sewer services.

Responds to over 1900 customer service calls each year.

Sewer usage is based upon the amount of water that is used. A separate meter for irrigation is suggested in order to avoid a sewer charge for water used for irrigation.

Contractors may obtain a hydrant meter at Public Works for fire hydrant use at special projects. All City water/sewer complaints, comments, reports, etc should be made to the Public Works Office at 229-276-2540, 229-276-2541 or 229-273-6136.
