The Public Works Department strives to provide essential services to the citizens of the City of Cordele. Our department consists of seven divisions:

 NOTICE OF OPERATING HOURS CHANGE

Effective on Monday, June 22nd, 2026, the City of Cordele Public Works Department will be adjusting our regular operating hours. Beginning Monday, we will observe a new operating time of 7:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. We are facilitating this change for the safety of our employees in regard to the summertime heat and any health-related issues that may result from the South Georgia sweltering temperatures. These operating hours will remain in effect until cooler weather arrives later in the year. This operating time adjustment will also affect the manned dump station, Monday - Friday.
Saturday operation of the manned dump station will stay the same, 8:00 A.M. - 12 Noon. Thank you in advance for your support and understanding.
