Permits and Fees

If you would like to apply for a permit, please access the Permit Application, then:

  • Fill out and return application to our office by mail or in person
  • Wait for a determination on total amount owed
  • Pay that amount by mail or in person
  • Wait for Codes Enforcement to approve the permit
  • Receive approved permit by mail or pick up in person
  • Begin your project!

Building Permits & Fees

Total Valuation Fee
Total Valuation $0.00 - $15,000 Fee $35 for first $2000 plus $5 for each additional $1000 or fraction thereof, up to and including $15,000
Total Valuation $15,001 - $50,000 Fee $105 for first $15,000 plus $5 for each additional $1000 or fraction thereof, up to and including $50,000
Total Valuation $50,001 - $100,000 Fee $280 for first $50,000 plus $4 for each additional $1000 or fraction thereof, up to and including $100,000
Total Valuation $100,001 - $500,000 Fee $480 for first $100,000 plus $3 for each additional $1000 or fraction thereof, up to and including $500,000
Total Valuation Over $500,000 Fee $1680 for first $500,000 plus $2 for each additional $1000 or fraction thereof

Other Fees

  • Moving of Building Structure: $40.00
  • Demolition of Building Structure: $100.00

Mechanical Permits and Fees

Permit Issuing Fee $10.00
Up to five (5) tons $5.00
For each additional ton over the first five (5) tons $2.00
Heat Pump Only, Issuing Fee $10.00 + $1 for each $50,000 BTU or fraction thereof
New duct work in excess of 30" when pipe is 12" in diameter or less $10.00 Issuing Fee
Inspection heating, ventilation, duct work, air conditioning& refrigeration system $10.00 for first $1000 or fraction thereof, of the valuation of the installation plus $2 for each additional $1000 or fraction thereof.
Reinspection Fee $5.00
Temporary Operation Inspection Fee: If the system is not approved for temporary operation on the first preliminary inspection, the usual reinspection fee will be charged for each subsequent inspection. $5.00

All buildings except 1/2 family dwellings, where self-contained, air conditioned units of less than two tons are to be installed, the fee charged shall be that for the total cost of all units combined.

Electrical Permits & Fees

Residential and Single Phase Commercial

  • When service work is not involved - $5.00/ea
  • When service work is involved including a new service or changing or enlarging an existing service and includes any other work done behind the service as part of the job - $0.10 per amp

Industrial and Three-phase Commercial

  • When service is not involved - 1/2 of 1% of estimated job costs up to a maximum of $0.25 per amp rating at the existing service entrance with a minimum of $10.00
  • When service work is involved including installing a new service or changing or enlarging an existing service and will include any work to be done behind the service as part of the job - $0.25 per amp

Reinspection (no fault of the City) - $10.00

If any person commences any electrical work where a permit is required without first obtaining such a permit, the fee provided for by this schedule will be doubled.
